Journeying Beyond the Map
Travel was not a hobby for me but a way of life, a lens through which I see the world. Hello, my name is Asfandyar, and I am the voice behind this travel blog. I have crossed different landscapes, from cities to the most secluded villages, their beauty, cultures, and stories. In this blog, I am going to narrate the stories of experiences, perspectives, and connections that run deep with places I have visited.
What makes my travel blog stand out from others is that it focuses on experiences. I believe that travel should be much more than ticking destinations off a list; it should be about getting the true feel of that place. Be it learning some traditional craft in some small village, being part of some local festival, or even just a meaningful chat with a stranger, I try to document what makes travel so enriching.
My travels are essentially about knowing cultures and people. I approach every new place with an open mind and ready to learn how it functions. I love sharing insight about people whose life I have come across: their customs and the unspoken rules under which their societies work. My aim is to provide a perspective beyond the general tourist view and bring illumination to deeper, usually veiled, aspects of the cultures I explore.
Being a history enthusiast, I strongly believe that understanding past experiences is the only way to appreciate the present. History has always played a great role in developing cultures, and it’s very fascinating for me to find the historical threads in places I visit. Whether this translates into archaeological ruins, historical landmarks, or glimpses into stories that have sculpted the face of a nation, I add historic elements to my travelogue to offer a richer and better-informed perspective.
I created this blog with the wish to hold memories of travel and share them with you—kindred spirits who demand more from their wanderlust. I do hope that through my stories, you can feel inspired to take on more adventures, appreciate the places you step your feet on, and, perhaps, view the world in a different light.
Thanks for joining in on this epic journey. Together, let’s go explore the world one story at a time.
